Rohan Character Classes Overview

There are six (6) races in Rohan. Each is locked to a specific “role”. For example, Dark Elves are basically mages, Humans are warriors, and so on. The six races are Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Dekan, Dhan, and Dark Elf.

Below is a quick overview of each class. In the coming days, more detailed content will be posted.
Rohan Online Character Classes
Every time you level up, you get to assign stat points and skill points. At a certain level, you will be able to branch out (depending on your skill builds) to a more specialized role. For example, the Dekan can be a Dragon Knight or a Dragon Sage, depending on what style of play you choose.

Human

HUMAN Knight
The human race is perfectly suited for the Knight class. Bound to chivalrous conduct, humans are predisposed to fight for what they believe to be right.
  • Defender
A brute of a soldier, they are often the center of a battle party due to their strengthened defense. They can also cast stun spells and excel with ranged attacks.
  • Guardian
These steadfast warriors boast refined attack skills. They can successfully reach their targets even if well-protected, and can even increase the amount of damage with each attack.
Story
Humans, created by lower god Roha’s blessing of wisdom, boast the longest history on Rohan Continent as the initial race. Ruled by hereditary monarchy, their nation Del Lagos was erected with capital Einhoren at the center. The paladin system is the mainstay of military prowess of human nation Del Lagos. Paladins, trained in training facilities with great temples as groundwork, uphold the “Love for the Gods, Loyalty for the King, and Service for the People” pledge by validating their faith in battle. Possessing the largest population and strongest power, Humans serve as the continental benchmark. Docile and pure, they are passionate in the pursuit of knowledge, and relatively tolerant to accepting foreign culture or knowledge.

Advanced Class Discussion: Human Knight

The three elements of a well-rounded Rohan Online character: Stats, Skills, and Style! We’ll be talking about these in a bit more detail. Treat this as a reference guide instead of a full walkthrough – part of the fun in creating a unique character is experimenting!

The Human Knight
Due to how the Human Knight (or Guardian / Defender, if second job) skill tree works, these are the recommended stats that a Human player should focus on:
STRENGTH (Basic Warrior: +3 STR, +1 VIT every level)
DEXTERITY (Critical Hit Warrior: +3 DEX, +1 VIT every level)
VITALITY (Tanker: +4 VIT every level)
Human Jobs
The Human Knight is the default job class for Humans. Just like all other classes, it has skills that form the basic foundation of the class. In this case, we have standard warrior skills: buffs that increase Strength, skills that deal physical damage, and so on. He can change to a second job class upon reaching level 50:
The Guardian is the class that is focused more on being able to deal damage. They are skilled with swords and daggers, and as such, Guardians are often seen dual-wielding them for combined damage.
On the other hand, the Defender wields a mace and wears a shield and is a skilled protector, as his name suggests. Defenders can also protect other party members from attacks! Their use of shields implies more stunning attacks with shield bashing.

Elf

ELF Healer
These gentle-souled elves are proficient at healing others in their party. But do not be fooled, they can also pack a wicked wallop in the form of magical attacks.
  • Priest
Specializing in healing and protection using a range of powerful magic spells. They assist in party members recovery, defense and also vitality.
  • Templar
Quite the aggressor, they are capable of both magical and physical attacks. But their healing powers are keen as well.
Story
“My magic will protect us.” The second race to become residents of Rohan Continent following Humans are the beautiful Elves created by Marea. After having lost their first capital Regen to monsters, their civilization is being developed under the rule of the king and prophets in Vena, their second capital. With Magic Academy located in Via Marea, the Elf nation, active magic research was being conducted surpassing other cities, but with the continent being seeped in chaos triggering incessant interracial warfare, the academy was fashioned into a magic training facility in preparation for war. Elves prize mental training over physical aspects and aptly employ magic on healing wounds and altruistic activities as advocates of peace.

Advanced Class Discussion: Elves

The Elves are recognized as the healers of Rohan Online, and their skills revolve around the use of such spells to survive. However, with their power over life comes also the power to take it away. You’ll soon come to learn that Elves may be just as formidable as your next door warrior or mage!

Drifting Away from the Healer Stereotype
In most games, healers are presumed to be the weakest of all classes in terms of combat capability. Usually, players see them in support roles, just making sure that they keep their friends alive.
In Rohan Online, the Elves’ diverse skill tree allows them to focus on which specific healing style they want to do: single healing, group healing, and so on. They may even opt to focus on their offensive and support spells, avoiding the healing skills altogether.

Half-Elf

HALF ELF Archer
Offspring of Human and Elf, these forest-dwellers are masters of ranged combat. Be it bow & arrow or mechanical crossbow, their proficiency is unmatched.
  • Scout
Masters of multi-targeting with their bows (and magic), they often choose to fight all enemies at once rather than one at a time.
  • Ranger
Well versed on the crossbow, Rangers dominate their opponents with swift and precise arrow and dagger attacks.
Story
“An arrow that leaves the bowstring never misses the target.” A half-blood race is born as a result of active diplomacy being forged between Humans and Elves following the demise of the main god and destruction of the dragons. Called Half Elves, they emerged as a new race possessing characteristics of both Humans and Elves. However, shunned by Humans and Elves alike, they roam the continent and have been mounting a recent effort to cultivate an autonomous civilization. Forest-oriented lifestyle of Half Elves naturally enable them to wield the bow, a weapon conducive to hunting. Endowed with Human strength and constitution, and agile body and incisive sensibility inherited from Elves, They possess the most competent ranged offense on the continent.

Advanced Class Discussion: Half-Elves

The Half-Elves are known for their speed and keen sight, making them the best race suited for long-range combat. Here, we’ll take a look at some more details surrounding the Half Elf, and what you, as a player, can expect from them.

The Half-Elf Archer / Skills
Most of the Archer’s skills are composed of buffs or passive skills:
Frozen: Increase water elemental damage and resistance, chance to decrease target’s movement speed.
Long Shot: For every level of this skill, increase the range of your attack.
Nimble: Increase DEXTERITY by 10%.
Fatal: Increase critical damage based on your DEXTERITY.
Evade: Increase evasion rate by 10%.
There are other attack and debuff skills available, such as Double Strike (shoot two arrows at once), or Ensnare (decrease target’s movement speed by 30%), which can be effective for Player versus Player combat in high levels.

Dekan

DEKAN Dragon Fighter
Nearly incomprehensible, these changelings defy nature. Dekans are born with the nascent ability to transform from humanoid to a fiercely violent dragon!
  • Dragon Knight
They evolve more quickly in the form of dragon rather than humanoid, and employ a unique bloodsucking skill to weaken opponents.
  • Dragon Sage
Specialized hunters that can attack large areas at once. Pray you do not cross them underwater.
Story
“Not even death can curb our dignity.” Unlike other races who were created by main god Ohn, Dekans, descendents of Blue Dragon Armenes, named their nation after their creator. Inhabiting the north, with capital Rev’Deca at the center, Dekans maintain an odd rivalry with the nearby Dhans. Profoundly proud of their provenance as dragon’s descendents, Dekans are disposed to disdaining other races created by the lower gods.

Dhan

DHAN Assassin
These killing machines are serpentine in their deadliness. Because of their bias for butchery, they are the most feared (and despised) class in Rohan. Dhans can acquire experience by killing other players rather than completing quests if they choose.
  • Avenger
Can achieve invisibility and dismember opponents with no warning. By the time you see them, your eyes may no longer be connected to your face.
  • Predator
The quickest of the Dhans, they deal blows so swiftly that anyone within striking distance may not even be able to take a single swing before death.
Story
“Do not be complacent with what you can’t see! Death is instant!” Rohan Year 74. Kraute Del Lagos, usurps the throne by deposing the profligate king only to be deposed himself by opposing factions before long. Pursued by Human troops, he flees with an entourage of endorsers to an island in the north. They are the founding fathers of the Dhan race. Such genesis background drove young Dhans to master the ways of the assassin out of a sense of duty for personal survival and enemy disposal. Remote from the continent, they possess an entirely disparate culture from that of the mainland, producing unique alien weaponry. In the free city of Par’Talucca, they worship main god Ohn and Edoneh instead of the lower gods.

Advanced Class Discussion: Dhan

The assassin class of Rohan Online, Dhans have what it takes to kill with both style and stealth.

A female Dhan, after a quick kill. Click on the image to enlarge.

Standard Playing Style
Dhans are close combat characters, specializing in skills that deal damage quickly to take down enemies before they have a chance to respond. They also have skills that enhance specific attack skills, such as the following:
Psychic Phantom: An attack that deals an additional 80% damage with your regular attack.
Phantom Crow: Psychic Phantom has 20% chance to deal critical damage.
If you increase Phantom Crow to level 5, all of your Psychic Phantom attacks will have 100% chance to deal critical damage.
Of course, they have the traditional Hide skill which makes them invisible towards monsters and players. Just like the scenario above, the Dhan’s “Mortal Rising” skill gives attacks done in “Hide” mode an additional chance to deal a critical hit.

Dark Elf

DARK ELF Mage
The mysterious Dark Elven Mages employ strong magical powers to weaken and dispatch their enemies. They also have transportation powers. Not much else is known about them to date.
  • Warlock
Thrives in group battles, they seemingly are able to weaken opponents before the fighting even starts.
  • Wizard
Expert hunters, they employ powerful area spells to fight off multiple opponents simultaneously.
Story
“I vow to remove that pretentious mask of yours.” Dark Elves. With their capital Montt located in Ignis at the southern tip of Rohan Continent, and while cultured, they possess a stolid, implicitly disdaining appearance, and their aristocratic disposition tends to slight others. Most Dark Elves spent long years in conspiracy and secret strife, and concealing massive magic energy, they are poised to surface on the continent. Ostensibly subscribing to decorum while harboring ulterior motives, Dark Elf code of behavior is gradually surfacing by way of forging a clandestine coalition with Giants in a maneuver to keep Human and Elf powers in check.

Advanced Class Discussion: Dark Elves

Dark Elves are the strongest magicians in Rohan Online in terms of raw offensive power, and their skills build around that capability.

A Dark Elf Mage before the Montt citadel. Click on the image to enlarge.

The Dark Elf Mage
The Dark Elf Mage’s levelling style is pretty simple, and it revolves around the effective use of the following skills:
Energy Sphere: Your target receives magical damage boosted by a certain amount.
Health Coil: Deal boosted magical damage and gain a percentage of Health Points (HP).
Mana Coil: Deal boosted magical damage and gain a percentage of Mana Points (MP).
Energy Sphere is both cheap (in terms of mana cost and cooldown), and will be your primary offensive spell before getting to your second job class at level 50.
With Health Coil and Mana Coil, not only do you get to deal extra damage, but you will rarely have the need to use potions.

Elf - Class and Features

The race of Elves worships the goddess of water and loves nature and aquatic life. The Elves have slim and nimble bodies, long ears, and beautiful features. During the era of giants, among all creatures they held the most power. However, when the giants were destroyed, the power and influence of the Elves were also diminished. Now they only inhabit part of the forest in Aden.
Special Abilities of the Race: Compared to other races, Elves can hold their breath longer and are better able to jump from high places.
Characteristics: Elves are wise and quick-witted. They are fast in attack, movement and casting speeds. They also have superior marksmanship skills and higher evasion ratings. However, their attack strength is inferior to that of other races.

Human - Class Transfer

Human - Class and Features

Humans in Lineage II are similar to Humans in the modern world. Humans currently have the greatest dominion in the world and the largest population.

Special Abilities of the Race: Although Humans do not possess any special abilities, their strong point is the fact that they can transfer to the most specialized classes.

Characteristics: Humans are well-balanced in all of their characteristics.

Being Elves, their natural lifespan was longer than most. When combining long life with their healing abilities, the High Elves gained a unique perspective on life, the world, and their cycles. They have taken it upon themselves to become the defenders of Irisians from external influences, even that of Eres or Apollon. After years of working with magic in its pure energy form, a Mage's skin tone takes on an irregular hue, making them easily identifiable. In continuing their studies, some mages delved into a darker magic. These darker secrets were banned from use by the Order; those who practiced them became outcasts and were driven north. Regardless of which path was taken, the most powerful mages became either Arch Mages or Witches and were capable of incredible devastation.

Initially linked directly to Eres's power, the Titans were virtually indestructible and terrible to behold as they swept aside elves and men at will. With the stalemate and retreating of Eres and Apollon, the tie to the Titans source of almost unlimited power was severed so that the God could save himself.

Others felt that Apollon had no choice but to continue the war; they saw Eres as the cause of the world's demise and thus joined the side of Light. Those remaining held to a neutral stance and fought to keep the devastation from the lands they dwelt within, fighting only when threatened. As the conflict receded, the Sorcerers once again returned to their seclusion, ignoring the politics while tending the land, roaming in search of damaged nodes and leylines in need of repair.

Knight Background Story

The Creed of the fabled Knights of Apollon, passed down for generations, lives on today. Normal humans, imbued by Apollon with great skill in weaponry, speed, and battle tactics, the Knights have lived defending Iris from the treacherous Titans. Their warfare secrets are carefully guarded and only given to those who prove themselves worthy through their actions both on and off the battlefield. Those honored few, dubbed either Royal or Templar Knights, are the elite squad of the Knights of Apollon and the most powerful warriors Iris has to offer.

Nordein

Towards the end of the great war, the Goddesses created the Nordein to help protect Teos. The Nordein, or "Deatheaters," have every appearance of being brutish, violent, and aggressive; however, this race of ancients is a book that should not be judged by its cover. In the wars that followed their appearance on Teos, the Nordien acquired a disdain for magic and chose not to use lightly, if at all. This is likely one reason they sided with the spiritual Vail, and not the magical Elves.

Vail

Intelligent and swift, cunning and spiritual, the Vail are the chosen of the Goddess of Darkness. One of the two races that are descended from the Dumianas, the Vail, while exotic and mysterious in appearance, are not the warlike people most assume them to be. Ferocious and treacherous only when necessary, the Vail seek to find a state of balance in their surroundings. Not possessing the strength of some of the other races, the Vail prefer to use stealth and the mystical arts in battle.

Elves

Methodical, deliberate, and smart are just some of the words used to describe the Elves. The Elves, like the Vail, are descended from the Dumianas. The Laws of Nature are very important to the Elves, and their society relies on order and discipline. The Elves are in a perpetual state of war, struggling to stave off the monsters outside their borders. The magical Elves are the chosen of the Goddess of Light.

Humans

Newest to the lands of Teos are the Humans. Spiritual, strong, and swift, the Humans are adept at nearly every job that Teos has to offer. Their power, however, lies in their strength of body and spirit. Born Fighters and Priests, the Humans are a natural complement to the magical Elves. Brought to Teos by the Goddesses, the hope was that the Humans would help restore balance and unity. Unfortunately, the Humans were swept up in the chaos, and the Elves were the first to assist them.

Choose the Thief, Martial Artist or the Blade Dancer, and don't forget to use your Melee DPS branch skills to swiftly and powerfully strike multiple enemies at once.

Tanks

Melee/Defense classes (aka Tanks) are excellent at protecting weaker party members during combat. Able to withstand more damage than other classes, the Melee/Defense branch blasts close range damage, while at the same distracting enemies from targeting other party members. Your tank options are the Warrior and Knight.

Healer/Support

The Healer/Support branch benefits other party members with healing abilities and spells that boost certain skills. Each member of the Healer/Support class also possesses their own unique combat flare. Pick the Cleric, Bard or Shaman for Healing and Support.

Magic DPS

Both the Magician and Illusionist practice arcane magic- casting destructive hexes and curses, and maneuvering the elements at their whim.

Ranged DPS

Pick a Ranged DPS class for long-distance sharp shooting. These classes deal damage from afar with various ranged weapons. Take out enemies one by one, before they even know you're there. Your options are Hunter or Engineer, each with a unique set of weapons and skills. Use your Ranged branch skills to further boost your epic sharpshooting.

Knight

Prerequisite:
Character Level: 25
Warrior Level: 20

The chivalrous Knight deftly executes swift sword strikes to overwhelm foes in single combat. Embodying great courage under pressure, Knights bravely dodge and block attacks. Using arcane musical spells and enchantments, the Bard suavely overwhelms the enemy with waves of power chords and fast-paced hypnotic music. The Bard's gregarious songs and sonnets also have healing and defense powers.

Cleric

Prerequisite: Character Level: 5
The Cleric casts a variety of healing and booster spells from a powerful law book. You won't find a more generous and compassionate class than the Cleric. Use the Cleric to heal party members and amplify stats and spells during battle.

Illusionist

Prerequisite:
Character Level: 30
Magician Level: 35

Jesters may seem friendly, but be wary. As masters of deception, the illusionist class is highly skilled at distraction and enchantment. Illusionists can also heal party members.

Magician

Available at Character Creation
The Magician (Mage for short) is one of the beginning classes available to players. Magicians are normally light-hearted creatures, often using spells and potions for the entertainment of friends and family. Magicians can conjure damaging blizzards of fire and ice, teleport your party to safety, even become invisible.

Engineer

Prerequisite:
Character Level: 30

Character Level: 40

http://s.aeriastatic.com/files/edeneternal/image/E/EE_classes_Thief.jpg
Prerequisite:
Character Level: 15

Thieves often have a nasty reputation, but their organization has been in existence for centuries. Their skills have been honed through oppression and persecution, and finally have become recognized as a force for good. Thieves adhere to a strict code, and their "thefts" are often tests of skill and the objects returned to their owner the next day.
